Introduction:
With the heat treatment the steel acquires the structure it will have when used. When a heat treatment is performed, the attention must not only be focused on obtaining some microstructure changes: also the minimum changes in temperature and volume (which may cause internal strains and distortions) must be controlled to avoid further damages to the mould.
