Induction hardening is a localized surface heat treatment used to increase hardness in specific areas of a component while preserving a tough, impact-resistant core. The process selectively hardens surfaces exposed to wear, friction, and high mechanical loads, avoiding unnecessary treatment of the entire workpiece.<\/p>\n

At T.T.N. S.p.A., induction hardening is performed on components of various sizes and geometries, including machine beds and guideways for boring machines, lathes, and milling machines. Each treatment cycle is engineered according to the steel grade, component geometry, required case depth, and actual service conditions.<\/p>\n

The use of high-, medium-, and low-frequency induction generators, combined with CNC-controlled equipment and in-house designed induction coils, ensures accurate heating and uniform hardened case profiles. Induction hardening uses an electromagnetic field to generate heat directly within the areas to be hardened. Heating is rapid and highly localized, allowing only the required surface regions to be treated while leaving the rest of the component unaffected.<\/p>\n

The component is then quenched using the cooling medium best suited to the steel grade and the required performance characteristics. This metallurgical transformation increases surface hardness while preserving the mechanical properties of the core, ensuring the toughness and strength needed to withstand service loads.<\/p>\n

        La tempra a induzione \u00e8 un trattamento termico superficiale impiegato quando \u00e8 necessario aumentare la durezza in aree specifiche del pezzo, mantenendo il nucleo interno pi\u00f9 tenace e resistente agli urti. Il processo permette di intervenire in modo localizzato sulle superfici maggiormente esposte a usura, attrito e carichi meccanici, senza modificare inutilmente l'intero volume del materiale.<\/p>

        In T.T.N. S.p.A., questo trattamento viene eseguito su componenti di geometrie e dimensioni differenti, compresi bancali e piani di scorrimento di alesatrici, torni e fresatrici. Ogni ciclo viene definito in base al tipo di acciaio, alla geometria del particolare, alla profondit\u00e0 di indurimento richiesta e alle reali condizioni di esercizio.<\/p>

        L'impiego di generatori ad alta, media e bassa frequenza, insieme a impianti dotati di meccaniche CNC e induttori progettati internamente, garantisce un riscaldamento preciso e profili di indurimento uniformi.         Il trattamento sfrutta un campo elettromagnetico per generare calore direttamente nelle aree da indurire. Il riscaldamento avviene in tempi rapidi e in modo selettivo, limitando l'intervento alle sole superfici interessate.<\/p>

        Successivamente il pezzo viene raffreddato mediante il mezzo pi\u00f9 idoneo alle caratteristiche dell'acciaio e al risultato richiesto. La trasformazione della struttura metallurgica aumenta la durezza superficiale mantenendo nel cuore del materiale caratteristiche meccaniche adeguate alle sollecitazioni previste.<\/p>

        La regolazione di frequenza, potenza, tempi e modalit\u00e0 di raffreddamento permette di adattare il ciclo a superfici piane, cilindriche e geometrie particolarmente complesse.<\/p>

Grazie all'integrazione tra trattamento termico, rinvenimento, distensione, eventuale raddrizzatura e collaudi conclusivi, T.T.N. S.p.A. \u00e8 in grado di seguire il componente lungo tutte le fasi necessarie, assicurando qualit\u00e0, ripetibilit\u00e0 e conformit\u00e0 alle specifiche richieste.<\/p>
